Sudan and Eritrea move to end row
Sudan and Eritrea have agreed to begin normalising relations, after a meeting between the two leaders in Khartoum.
Both governments had previously made accusations that the other had backed armed groups in their country.
The Sudanese government also welcomed Eritrea's offer to help mediate a political settlement with rebels in eastern Sudan.
Leaders of the rebel Eastern Front are due to meet Sudanese officials later in the Eritrean capital, Asmara.
The talks were delayed while the Eritrean and Sudanese presidents completed their consultations.
