ADDIS ABABA, June 14 (Reuters) - The United Nations said on Wednesday that clashes between rival clans and insurgents in Ethiopia's southern region of Oromia and Somali in the east have forced aid agencies to suspend or limit their work.
"Clashes between Borena and Guji rival clans in the Oromia region last week, in which several people have been killed, have forced humanitarian organisations to restrict their activities temporarily," the United Nations humanitarian organisation in Addis Ababa (OCHA), said in a statement.
It did not give details of the clashes but added that transportation of relief food is being hampered while the movement of private vehicles is being restricted.
"Trucks attempting to move food into the region face delay," the statement said.
