Ethiopian journalists hold lit candles and banners
An expelled Ethiopian journalist places lit candles and banners in front of the Ethiopian embassy in Nairobi, Kenya May 2, 2006. The journalist and his other colleagues were protesting against the trial of 75 opposition leaders, journalists and civil society activists who appeared in court in Ethiopia on Tuesday charged with treason, inciting violence and attempting to commit genocide. Ethiopian opposition leaders conspired with an Eritrean-backed rebel group to undermine security as part of a plot to overthrow the government, prosecutors said on Tuesday at the start of the treason trial.
